Born in Pakse Laos, Somano was raised in Troyes France and qualified as a dental technician  and has gained a wealth of experience in over 24 years post qualification. He has worked not only in France but in many international locations with some of the world’s greatest dentists and master ceramists.

Somano qualified in 1998 from the CEPAL - CENTRE ENSEIGNEMENT PROMOTION DES METIERS (Dental Technology) in Nancy, France and spent his internship during 3 months at the Ivoclar Vivadent International Training Center in Schaan Liechtenstein for Dentists and Technicians.

On qualification Somano trained in Troyes and worked in Paris with different dental laboratories and dental clinics. Although the level was a good standard Somano’s desire to improve his career as a master ceramist, brought him to go abroad to expand and develop his technique.

Moving to London in 2002 to work as a freelancer ceramist in different laboratories and clinics, Somano had the possibility to see his ceramic work in situ even by chairside, helping the doctors in fitting and prepping big veneer cases.

In 2005 Somano attended a series of courses and lectures by Dr Pascal Magne and Michel Magne, organised by the British Society Restorative Dentistry. These revolutionized the world of aesthetics dentistry for him radically changing, challenging and ultimately leading to him to master and develop new innovative techniques for the aesthetics dentistry.

Since 2005 Somano has undergone many courses in ceramics, attended lectures, and met with other fellow colleagues technicians and dentists to understand and learn new techniques for the future.

From 2006 to 2017 Somano worked 3 master class per year with Master Gérald Ubassy at his International Training Center in Avignon France where he translated “live” trqining classes from French to English for an international audience. 

In 2015 Somano worked with Dr Cyril Gaillard to translate from French into English the 1st DSD Course by Dr Christian Coachman in Paris at the same time learning new techniques and specialities alongside with the master in live environment was an overwhelming and breathtaking experience. 

During 2015 to 2017 Somano also worked as freelancer at the private clinic of Dr JC Paris Aix en Provence France on neuro-muscular treatments which included working on full mouth rehabilitation and worn dentitions. The system approach was similar to the “3 steps technique adhesive restorations” developed and conceptualized by Dr Francesca Vaillati.

Throughout his career Somano has undertaken master classes with the Best Master Ceramists from around the world who have since became good friends and having them as Mentors is truly a dream come true. I am deeply thankful to Misters Gérald Ubassy , Willi Geller, Giuseppe Zuppardi, Shigeo Kataoka, Pascal Magne, Michel Magne, Naoki Aiba , Jungo Endo, Luke Hasegawa, Olivier Tric, Sasha Hein, Nondas, Thomas Sing and many others colleagues with great talent out there, who continue to inspire him to this day.

Since 2018 he moved to Phuket Thailand and opened his dream dental studio by the end of that year. Focusing on aesthetic veneer and full mouth rehabilitations cases also training master classes on ceramics for dental technicians and dentists in the region of south east Asia
