JAPAN
“Oral Design Symposium ” in Yokohama, Japan
October 7-10, 2010 Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse
This Willi Geller course turned out to be the biggest hands-on course in the history of Japanese dental technology industry at that time. At the historic venue, called Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, 52 participants from seven countries, including Japan, enjoyed Mr. Geller’s two-day hands-on course. What made it even more special is that the Oral Design members all over the world gathered in Yokohama to assist the hands-on course.
This Oral Design Symposium was held in conjunction with the QDT Symposium. The finale of the QDT symposium was the round-table discussion by Willi Geller and the Japanese master ceramists, Makoto Yamamoto, Hitoshi Aoshima, Shigeo Kataoka as a chairperson, and Masahiro Kuwata as a guest commentator.
In the discussion, they looked back the round-table discussion published in March 1992 issue of the QDT and the photo of Geller, Yamamoto, Aoshima, and Kataoka,
taken at that time. It was the sensational discussion, which made a huge impact on the Japanese esthetic dentistry. retrospectively, it was one of the turning points, which made the
Japanese esthetic dentistry one step forward. As a result, the photo became a symbol of aesthetic dentistry. Seventeen years later in 2009, thanks to the QDT, we were able to witness
the roundtable discussion again.
